WHAT IT DOES

AI-powered email CC recommendation tool that suggests who should be CC'd on your emails based on content and context. The script reads email draft and context from the current page—recipient, subject, content, and purpose—and generates recommendations for who should be CC'd. The AI analyzes the email content to identify stakeholders, decision-makers, and subject matter experts who should be included for awareness or action. You can customize the suggestion count (3/5/7), report format (brief/detailed), and toggle inclusion of stakeholders, decision-makers, experts, and rationale. The user reviews the output before copying or using it.

WHERE IT RUNS

Works on all email composition pages (match pattern *://*/*), including webmail clients (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo), email marketing platforms, and any page containing email draft content.

HOW TO USE

Install the script and navigate to any email composition page. The Email CC Recommendation Tool appears in the panel. Configure your preferred suggestion count, report format, and toggle inclusion of stakeholders, decision-makers, experts, and rationale using the settings controls. Click "Recommend" to analyze the current page. The AI extracts email content and generates CC recommendations. Review the output in the panel. Click "Copy to Clipboard" to copy the recommendations for use in your email. Adjust the settings and regenerate if you want a different number of suggestions or level of detail.

REAL MECHANISM: DOM CONTENT EXTRACTION WITH AI CC RECOMMENDATION AND REVIEW GATE

This script uses a hybrid extraction approach that prioritizes structured content when available. First, it checks for WebMCP (navigator.modelContext), a W3C proposal that exposes structured tools on the page. If available, it calls getContent() to obtain structured email data. If WebMCP is not present—the common case today—it falls back to DOM scraping using targeted selectors for email sections (email-draft, email-content, compose-content, recipient, subject-line, email-body, message-text, to-field, cc-field, and bcc-field). It also scans for email keywords (dear, hi, hello, regarding, about, please, thank, cc, bcc, to, from, subject) in paragraphs, divs, textareas, and inputs. The extracted text is sent to an AI backend via GM_xmlhttpRequest, which processes it with a system prompt that includes the user's suggestion count, report format, and inclusion preferences. The AI returns a list of CC recommendations (3-7 options, up to 150 words total) with or without rationale. The response is displayed in a bordered container for review before copying. Copy-to-clipboard uses GM_setClipboard. All settings (suggestionCount, reportFormat, includeStakeholders, includeDecisionMakers, includeExperts, includeRationale) are persisted via GM_setValue. The script enforces a review-before-use pattern: the user must read and approve the AI output before copying it.

THE PANEL

Drag the panel anywhere on screen by clicking and holding the header. It snaps to screen edges when released. Collapse it to a small bubble by clicking the minimize button, and expand it back by clicking the bubble. Resize the panel from any corner. Press Escape to close the configuration panel. Your position and size preferences are saved automatically per site.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz browser extension and an active AI subscription for the recommendation service. AI-generated recommendations should be reviewed for appropriateness before use—the AI may suggest recipients who aren't relevant or miss important stakeholders. The script reads the current page content and sends it to the AI backend for processing; no data is stored or logged. Websites change frequently; if the script stops detecting email content, check for updates to the extraction selectors.
