WHAT IT DOES

Google Classroom Deadline Aggregator automatically detects assignments and due dates across all your Google Classroom classes and aggregates them into a single, organized list. A compact overlay badge shows the number of upcoming assignments, and a detailed timeline view displays all deadlines sorted by date or class with color-coded urgency — green for plenty of time, yellow for approaching, orange for soon, and red for urgent. This gives you a complete picture of all your upcoming work without navigating between different classes, helping you prioritize and never miss a deadline.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works exclusively on Google Classroom at classroom.google.com. It functions on the main dashboard, class pages, and any page displaying assignments. The tool works across all Google Classroom instances and adapts to the dynamic page structure.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to your Google Classroom homepage or any class page. A compact badge appears in the top-right corner showing the number of upcoming assignments. Click the badge to open the detailed timeline view showing all deadlines from all classes. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle the deadline badge on or off, toggle the timeline view on or off, choose the sort order (by date or by class), toggle completed assignments on or off, and click "Refresh Deadlines" to manually update the list. The timeline shows each assignment's title, class name, due date, and days remaining with color-coded urgency.

TECHNICAL SECTION — ASSIGNMENT DETECTION AND DEADLINE AGGREGATION

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find assignments on Google Classroom pages. It queries common assignment selectors including .assignment, .task, and .classwork, extracting titles, due dates, class names, and status information. The tool parses dates using multiple regex patterns to handle various date formats. All detected assignments are aggregated into a single list, filtered and sorted according to user preferences. The badge displays the count of upcoming assignments (with due dates in the future), and the timeline view shows all assignments with color-coded urgency based on configurable thresholds. The overlay is created using DOM manipulation with inline CSS, and a MutationObserver re-scans the page for new assignments.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current deadline count; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or assignment data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads assignment information visible on the page and does not access Google Classroom's API or any private data. Google Classroom may update its page structure; the extension includes multiple detection strategies to maintain compatibility, but major redesigns may temporarily affect assignment detection. Deadlines are estimates based on visible due dates and should be verified against official Google Classroom listings.
