About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Interview Transcript Summarizer is a productivity tool that analyzes interview transcripts, Q&A sessions, and conversation logs from any webpage, then generates a concise summary of the interview. It identifies the main topics discussed, key insights or takeaways from the conversation, and any significant quotes or conclusions, then produces a clear, easy-to-read summary that captures the essential content of the interview. You can choose between a brief or detailed summary length, review the summary in the panel, edit it as needed, and copy it for your reference, for sharing with colleagues, or for use in your own content.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage displaying interview transcripts, Q&A sessions, conversation logs, or similar interview content. Common sources include interview transcripts on news sites, podcast pages, academic research portals, and professional interview archives.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any page that displays an interview transcript, Q&A session, or conversation log. Open the BotGentz extension and select Interview Transcript Summarizer from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Select your preferred summary length (brief or detailed) from the dropdown menu. Click the "Summarize Interview" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant interview content and sends it to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a concise interview summary in the panel. Review the summary, make any edits directly in the panel, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for your reference.
TECHNICAL SECTION — INTERVIEW AND CONVERSATION EXTRACTION
This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on interview and conversational communication patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing interview indicators such as "interview," "transcript," "Q&A," "conversation," "speaker," "question," "answer," "topic," "insight," "quote," and "conclusion." Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures both the interview data and surrounding structural markers (speaker names, question-answer pairs, topic headings). Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being part of an interview context using features like interview language frequency ("question," "answer," "asked," "responded," "explained"), speaker patterns, and Q&A markers. Fourth, the system applies semantic clustering to group related content into three core categories: the main topics discussed, key insights or takeaways, and significant quotes or conclusions. Finally, the structured clusters, combined with the user's length preference, are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to generate a concise summary covering the key categories, reducing hallucination and ensuring accurate, contextually appropriate insights.
THE PANEL
The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active subscription to access the AI summarization feature. AI-generated interview summaries are for assistance only and should be reviewed for accuracy before relying on them, as interpretations may occasionally miss interview nuances or misread the conversation context. Websites change their interview page formats frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API. No browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
