About this app

WHAT IT DOES

LinkedIn Learning Web Course Progress Overlay automatically scans LinkedIn Learning course pages and learning dashboard to extract comprehensive progress data including completion percentage, videos watched, total video count, quiz scores, exercise files, estimated time remaining, and estimated total time. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of course progress with a visual progress bar and color-coded completion indicator—green for 80%+, yellow for 50-79%, and gray for below 50%. Videos watched are shown with a count and percentage. Time remaining is highlighted in yellow, and estimated total time is shown in blue. Quiz scores are displayed with color-coded performance indicators. Recently completed videos and remaining sections are listed for quick reference. Certificate eligibility is shown when available. This provides a complete, organized view of your LinkedIn Learning course progress.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on linkedin.com/learning domain pages that contain course content—specifically pages with "/learning" or "/course" in the URL path, or pages that display course videos and learning progress information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The course progress overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All progress data extraction, video tracking, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your learning data and tracking preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this progress overlay, navigate to any LinkedIn Learning course page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying your course name and progress summary. The "Progress" section shows completion percentage with a progress bar and video watch count. The "Time" section shows estimated time remaining and estimated total time. The "Quiz Scores" section displays all quiz scores with color-coded performance indicators. The "Remaining" section lists sections yet to be completed. Certificate eligibility is shown when available. The panel provides a complete, organized view of your course progress and helps you stay on track.

COURSE PROGRESS DATA EXTRACTION AND VIDEO TRACKING

The course progress overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse progress data from LinkedIn Learning pages. It first attempts to find structured progress elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including course progress containers, video items, and quiz elements. When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for progress-related patterns using pattern matching for percentages, video counts, time formats, and quiz scores. Completion percentages are extracted through pattern matching for percentage values with "complete" or "progress" labels. Video progress is extracted through pattern matching for "X/Y videos" patterns. Time remaining is extracted through pattern matching for minute or hour values with "remaining" or "left" labels. Estimated total time is extracted through pattern matching for "estimated time" labels. Quiz scores are extracted through pattern matching for percentage values with "quiz" labels. Exercise files are detected through keyword detection for "exercise file" labels. Recently completed videos and remaining sections are extracted from video or chapter elements, with completion status determined through keyword detection for "complete," "watched," or "viewed." All data is presented in a clean, organized panel with color-coded performance indicators.

THE PANEL

The course progress overlay panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the LinkedIn Learning course page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you learn. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and progress tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the course progress overlay does not work standalone. LinkedIn Learning occasionally updates its page layouts and course presentation formats, which may temporarily affect progress data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts progress data from the visible page content; if progress information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Quiz scores and progress percentages are based on extracted data and are provided as a reference—always verify your actual course progress on the official LinkedIn Learning platform. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all progress data extraction, video tracking, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal learning tracking and is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn Learning or its parent company. Course progress and certificate eligibility are subject to LinkedIn Learning's terms; always review your official LinkedIn Learning account for authoritative progress information.
