About this app
WHAT IT DOES
AI-powered local marketplace listing drafter that creates clear, appealing listings for platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp. The script reads product or item details from the current page—item name, description, condition, price, location, and category—and generates a draft listing. The AI produces a well-crafted listing that describes the item accurately, highlights key features, and includes important details for potential buyers. You can customize the listing format (standard/detailed/concise), tone (friendly/formal/enthusiastic), and toggle inclusion of price, condition, location, contact info, and negotiation notes. The user reviews the output before copying or using it.
WHERE IT RUNS
Works on all product and item pages (match pattern *://*/*), including e-commerce product pages, review sites, classified ad pages, and any page containing product or item information.
HOW TO USE
Install the script and navigate to any product or item page. The Local Marketplace Listing Drafter appears in the panel. Configure your preferred format, tone, and toggle inclusion of price, condition, location, contact info, and negotiation notes using the settings controls. Click "Draft Listing" to analyze the current page. The AI extracts product details and generates a clear, appealing listing. Review the output in the panel. Click "Copy to Clipboard" to copy the listing for use on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or other local platforms. Adjust the settings and regenerate if you want a different format or tone.
REAL MECHANISM: DOM CONTENT EXTRACTION WITH AI MARKETPLACE LISTING DRAFTING AND REVIEW GATE
This script uses a hybrid extraction approach that prioritizes structured content when available. First, it checks for WebMCP (navigator.modelContext), a W3C proposal that exposes structured tools on the page. If available, it calls getContent() to obtain structured product data. If WebMCP is not present—the common case today—it falls back to DOM scraping using targeted selectors for product sections (product-name, item-name, product-description, item-description, product-details, item-details, product-condition, product-price, listing-title, and listing-description). It also scans for product keywords (price, condition, brand, model, size, color, new, used, description, features, specs) in paragraphs and headings. The extracted text is sent to an AI backend via GM_xmlhttpRequest, which processes it with a system prompt that includes the user's format preference, tone, and inclusion preferences. The AI returns a draft listing (up to 150 words) that is clear, appealing, and includes key details about the item. The response is displayed in a bordered container for review before copying. Copy-to-clipboard uses GM_setClipboard. All settings (format, tone, includePrice, includeCondition, includeLocation, includeContact, includeNegotiation) are persisted via GM_setValue. The script enforces a review-before-use pattern: the user must read and approve the AI output before copying it.
THE PANEL
Drag the panel anywhere on screen by clicking and holding the header. It snaps to screen edges when released. Collapse it to a small bubble by clicking the minimize button, and expand it back by clicking the bubble. Resize the panel from any corner. Press Escape to close the configuration panel. Your position and size preferences are saved automatically per site.
PLEASE NOTE
This script requires the free BotGentz browser extension and an active AI subscription for the drafting service. AI-generated listings should be reviewed for accuracy and authenticity before posting—the AI may misinterpret product details or suggest details that don't match the item. The script reads the current page content and sends it to the AI backend for processing; no data is stored or logged. Websites change frequently; if the script stops detecting product content, check for updates to the extraction selectors.
