About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Motion Web Calendar Auto-Schedule Overlay automatically scans Motion calendar and scheduling pages to extract scheduled events, task blocks, meeting slots, and auto-schedule suggestions. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of upcoming scheduled items with time-block indicators—green for tasks, blue for meetings, and yellow for auto-scheduled items. Summary statistics show total events, tasks, meetings, and auto-scheduled items. Auto-scheduled highlights display the most recent auto-scheduled items with a robot emoji indicator. Recent items show the most current calendar entries with type icons. A time block summary shows the distribution of scheduled items across morning, afternoon, and evening periods. This provides a complete, organized view of your Motion calendar and helps you track scheduling patterns.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on motion.com domain pages that contain calendar and scheduling content—specifically pages with "/calendar", "/schedule", "/tasks", or "/dashboard" in the URL path, or pages that display calendar events and scheduling information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The auto-schedule overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All calendar data extraction, schedule analysis, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your calendar data and tracking preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this auto-schedule overlay, navigate to any Motion calendar or scheduling page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a summary with total events, tasks, meetings, and auto-scheduled items. The "Auto-Schedule Highlights" section shows recent auto-scheduled items with a robot emoji. The "Recent Items" section lists recent calendar entries with type icons. The "Time Blocks" section shows the distribution of scheduled items across morning, afternoon, and evening periods. The panel provides a complete, organized view of your Motion calendar and helps you understand your scheduling patterns.

CALENDAR DATA EXTRACTION AND SCHEDULE ANALYSIS

The auto-schedule overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse calendar data from Motion pages. It first attempts to find structured event and task elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "event-item," "schedule-item," "task-block," and "calendar-event." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for calendar-related patterns using pattern matching for event names, time formats, and scheduling keywords. Event types are classified as "task," "meeting," or "event" based on keyword detection. Auto-scheduled items are identified through keyword detection for "auto," "suggested," or "recommended." Time blocks are categorized into Morning (5 AM - 12 PM), Afternoon (12 PM - 5 PM), and Evening (5 PM - 11 PM) based on extracted times. All data is presented in a clean, organized panel with color-coded indicators.

THE PANEL

The auto-schedule overlay panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Motion calendar page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you review your schedule. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and scheduling preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the auto-schedule overlay does not work standalone. Motion occasionally updates its page layouts and calendar presentation formats, which may temporarily affect calendar data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts calendar data from the visible page content; if calendar information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Time block categorization is based on extracted times and may not reflect all time zones accurately. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all calendar data extraction, schedule analysis, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal calendar management and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Motion or its parent company. Calendar data is subject to Motion's terms; always review your official Motion account for authoritative scheduling information.
