Optional add-ons are shown with green checkmarks so you can identify additional protection you may want to purchase. This extension operates exclusively on outdoorsy.com domain pages that contain rental or booking content—specifically pages with "/rental/", "/book/", or "/rv/" in the URL path, or pages that display rental details and insurance information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The insurance coverage overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All coverage data extraction, plan comparison, and preference storage occurs on your machine, ensuring your browsing activity and coverage selections remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this insurance overlay, navigate to any Outdoorsy rental or booking page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a "Coverage Summary" section with liability, collision, comprehensive, and deductible amounts color-coded for quick reference. The "Exclusions" section lists what is not covered with red markers. The "Optional Add-Ons" section shows additional coverage options you can purchase. The "Available Plans" section displays the different coverage plans offered—click any plan to select it, and your preference is saved automatically. Your selected plan will be highlighted for easy identification on future visits. The panel includes a toggle to automatically show the overlay on rental pages, which is enabled by default. All coverage details are extracted from the visible page content, providing a complete picture of your insurance protection.

INSURANCE COVERAGE EXTRACTION AND PLAN COMPARISON

The insurance overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse insurance coverage data from Outdoorsy pages. It first attempts to find structured insurance elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "insurance-options," "coverage-plans," "protection-plans," and "insurance-section." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to scanning page content for insurance-related text, looking for paragraphs and list items that contain keywords like "insurance," "coverage," "protection," "liability," and "deductible." For each coverage type, the tool extracts amounts using pattern matching for dollar values, exclusions through pattern matching for "exclusions," "not covered," or "does not cover" labels, and add-ons through pattern matching for "add-ons," "optional coverage," or "additional protection" labels. Available coverage plans are identified through pattern matching for plan names like "Basic," "Standard," "Premium," "Plus," "Pro," or "Elite" followed by "Plan" or "Coverage." The plan comparison feature allows users to save their preferred selection, which persists across sessions using GM_setValue.

THE PANEL

The insurance coverage panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Outdoorsy rental page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you review coverage options. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, plan preferences, and auto-show settings are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the insurance overlay does not work standalone. Outdoorsy occasionally updates its page layouts and insurance presentation formats, which may temporarily affect data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts coverage data from the visible page content; if insurance details are loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate.
