About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Podia Web Student Progress Overlay automatically scans Podia course and student progress pages to extract comprehensive student progress data including course name, student name, lesson completion status, quiz scores, overall progress percentage, completed lessons, remaining lessons, and last activity. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of student progress with a visual progress bar and color-coded completion indicator—green for 80%+, yellow for 50-79%, and gray for below 50%. Completed lessons are listed with checkmarks, and remaining sections are highlighted for attention. Quiz scores are displayed with color-coded performance indicators. This provides a complete, organized view of student progress and helps instructors track course engagement.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on podia.com domain pages that contain course and student progress content—specifically pages with "/courses", "/students", "/progress", or "/dashboard" in the URL path, or pages that display student progress and course completion information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The student progress overlay runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All progress data extraction, lesson tracking, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your student data and tracking preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this progress overlay, navigate to any Podia course or student progress page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the student name, course name, and last activity. The "Progress" section shows overall completion percentage with a progress bar and lesson completion count. The "Quiz Scores" section displays all quiz scores with color-coded performance indicators. The "Remaining" section lists lessons yet to be completed. The "Completed" section shows completed lessons. The panel provides a complete, organized view of student progress and helps instructors track course engagement.

STUDENT PROGRESS DATA EXTRACTION AND LESSON TRACKING

The student progress overlay uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse progress data from Podia pages. It first attempts to find structured progress elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including student progress containers, lesson items, and quiz elements. When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for progress-related patterns using pattern matching for percentages, lesson counts, quiz scores, and student names. Student names are extracted through pattern matching for "student:" or "learner:" labels or element selectors. Course names are extracted from title elements or through pattern matching. Overall progress percentages are extracted through pattern matching for percentage values with "complete" or "progress" labels. Lesson completion is extracted through pattern matching for "X/Y lessons" patterns. Quiz scores are extracted through pattern matching for percentage values with "quiz" labels. Completed and remaining lessons are extracted from lesson elements, with completion status determined through keyword detection for "complete," "done," "viewed," or checkmarks. Last activity is extracted through pattern matching for "last activity" or "last seen" labels. All data is presented in a clean, organized panel with color-coded performance indicators.

THE PANEL

The student progress overlay panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Podia course page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you track student progress. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and progress tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the student progress overlay does not work standalone. Podia occasionally updates its page layouts and course presentation formats, which may temporarily affect progress data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts progress data from the visible page content; if progress information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Lesson extraction is based on pattern matching and may not capture all lesson types with perfect accuracy. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all progress data extraction, lesson tracking, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal teaching tracking and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Podia or its parent company. Student progress data is subject to Podia's terms; always review your official Podia account for authoritative student progress information.
