WHAT IT DOES

Rover Booking Reminder Badge keeps you organized by adding visual reminders and countdown timers directly to your Rover booking dashboard. The script automatically scans your upcoming bookings, calculates the days until each stay begins, and applies color-coded badges that let you instantly see which bookings need attention. Green badges indicate bookings more than 7 days away, yellow for 3-7 days, orange for 1-3 days, and urgent red for bookings starting within 24 hours. Each booking also displays a live countdown timer that updates in real-time, showing exactly how much time remains until the stay begins. The script even scans your Rover messages and adds reminder badges to conversations that mention upcoming bookings, so you never miss a critical date.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script operates on all Rover pages where bookings are displayed, including the main dashboard, booking management views, sitter home pages, past and upcoming booking lists, and individual booking detail pages. It also works within message threads, automatically detecting when conversations reference upcoming stays and adding reminder badges to those messages.

HOW TO USE

After installing through the BotGentz extension, simply navigate to your Rover dashboard or booking management page. The script automatically scans all visible bookings and applies reminder badges and countdown timers. Use the configuration panel to customize your experience: toggle the days badge on or off, enable or disable countdown timers, control color-coding by urgency, and configure notification preferences. Set the number of days before a booking starts to receive browser notifications—you'll be alerted when bookings are approaching so you can confirm details, prepare for the stay, or send pre-booking messages. The panel also includes a manual refresh button to re-scan the page after making changes.

DOM-BASED DATE EXTRACTION WITH CONTEXTUAL PARSING

This script employs a robust date extraction system that combines multiple parsing strategies. First, it searches for booking date elements using specific CSS selectors that target Rover's known date display structures. When dates are presented as ranges (e.g., "Jan 15-20, 2024"), the engine intelligently extracts the start date. Second, the script analyzes surrounding textual context, parsing natural language date formats like "starts tomorrow" or "check-in on Friday." Third, it examines data attributes and meta tags that may contain machine-readable timestamps. This multi-strategy approach ensures reliable date detection across Rover's various interfaces—dashboard, booking details, and messages—while maintaining resilience against layout changes.

THE PANEL

The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including badge visibility, countdown preferences, notification timing, and auto-refresh interval—are persisted across sessions.

Rover periodically updates their page structures, which may affect the script's ability to detect bookings—we actively maintain the script and release updates to ensure compatibility. The script reads only publicly visible booking data displayed on your dashboard and does not access hidden fields, passwords, or sensitive information. All extracted data and notification states are stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to external servers.
