WHAT IT DOES

This script automatically extracts seller information from product pages—including seller names, individual ratings, and review counts—then aggregates them into a single unified rating score. A floating badge displays the aggregated rating, a descriptive label (Excellent, Good, Average, or Poor), the number of sellers reviewed, total review count, and a confidence level indicating how reliable the aggregate score is. The script also highlights the best and worst sellers when multiple sellers are present, giving you a complete picture of seller quality at a glance. This helps you quickly identify whether a product is backed by reputable sellers or if you should be cautious.

WHERE IT RUNS

The script works on any product page across the web—Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Best Buy, Etsy, Newegg, and thousands of other e-commerce platforms. It runs on any page that displays seller information, regardless of how that information is formatted or where it's located. The script's multi-pattern detection finds seller names and ratings even when they're buried in product descriptions, shipped-by sections, or hidden detail panels.

HOW TO USE

After installation, the script scans automatically when you load a product page. Open the panel to customize your experience: toggle auto-scan on or off, control whether the rating badge appears, choose its position (top-right, top-left, bottom-right, bottom-left), and set custom colors for each rating level. Toggle the display of confidence level and review count, and enable or disable seller section highlighting. Click "Scan Now" to manually trigger a scan after dynamic content loads. Click the badge itself to toggle its opacity for a less distracting view. All settings are saved and persist across pages.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The script uses a multi-stage seller extraction and aggregation pipeline. First, it locates seller containers using a prioritized selector strategy targeting common seller elements (.seller, .seller-name, .merchant, .vendor, .sold-by, .fulfilled-by) with fallback to text-based detection across product information sections. Second, it extracts seller names using pattern matching for "Sold by," "Seller," "Merchant," and similar prefixes. Third, it extracts individual seller ratings using separate regex patterns for "X out of 5," "X/5," and "X stars" formats—using distinct patterns to avoid regex group issues. Fourth, it extracts review counts from text patterns like "X reviews" or "X ratings." Fifth, it calculates a weighted average rating where each seller's rating is weighted by their review count (or 1 if no review count), giving more influence to sellers with more customer feedback. Sixth, it determines confidence level based on total review volume (very high: 500+, high: 100-499, medium: 20-99, low: 1-19). Finally, it generates a color-coded badge with the aggregated rating, level, and supporting statistics.

THE PANEL

The settings panel is fully draggable and can be positioned anywhere on your screen. It automatically snaps to the nearest edge when released, keeping your workspace organized. The panel can be collapsed to a small bubble showing only a gear icon, and restored with a single click. Its position is remembered across page reloads using GM_setValue. The panel also responds to the Escape key, which instantly hides it until you click the bubble again. All settings are saved immediately when changed and persist across browser sessions.

Seller ratings and review counts vary widely across platforms, and the script's extraction may occasionally miss non-standard formatting or incorrectly parse unusual rating displays. Always verify seller quality with the platform's official ratings before making a purchase decision. The script does not access, store, or transmit any personal data, purchase history, or browsing information. All extraction and aggregation happens locally in your browser, and no information ever leaves your device.
