WHAT IT DOES

Carter's Web Size Guide Overlay reads product size options from Carter's product pages and displays a floating size guide overlay with recommendations based on your child's measurements. The overlay shows the recommended size for the current product, along with the available size options, with the recommended size highlighted in green. The overlay also displays the child's age, weight, and height used to determine the recommendation. You can save your child's measurements and fit preference (True to Size or Room to Grow), and the overlay updates in real time to show the best size for each product you view. The panel lets you manage child measurements, fit preference, and overlay visibility.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all Carter's pages at carters.com and its subdomains, specifically on product detail pages where size options are displayed. It runs on the main product view, the size selector section, and any page showing product size availability. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Carter's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to carters.com and open any product page. The extension automatically creates a floating size guide overlay showing the recommended size. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel. Enter your child's age in months, weight in pounds, and height in inches, then click "Save Measurements." Choose your fit preference—True to Size or Room to Grow—to adjust recommendations. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the floating size guide. The "Refresh" button manually updates the overlay with the latest product size options. Drag the overlay by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the overlay with the × button.

SCORING-BASED SIZE RECOMMENDATION WITH CARTER'S SIZE CHART

Unlike simple age-based recommendations, this extension uses a multi-factor scoring system that considers age, weight, and height simultaneously. The size chart includes data for all Carter's sizes from Newborn through 6, with weight ranges, height ranges, and approximate age in months. The recommendation engine calculates a score for each available size by checking how well the child's measurements match each size. Age proximity contributes up to 30 points, weight match contributes up to 35 points, and height match contributes up to 35 points. Partial matches (within 2 lbs or 2 inches) contribute partial points. The fit preference adjusts the scoring to slightly favor larger sizes when "Room to Grow" is selected. The size with the highest score is recommended and highlighted in the overlay and the size options list.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on carters.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, child measurements, fit preference, and overlay visibility, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Carter's website changes periodically, and product element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting size options until an update is released. The extension stores your child's age, weight, height, fit preference, overlay position, size, opacity, and visibility locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. The size recommendations are based on the size chart data and your child's measurements—actual fit may vary by product and individual growth patterns. Always use the recommendations as a guide and consult Carter's official size charts for the most accurate sizing. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for carters.com.
