About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Ahrefs Bulk Keyword List Importer lets you import multiple keywords into a target list in a single operation. Instead of manually adding each keyword to a list one by one, or copying keywords and pasting them into the import modal — this tool provides a unified checklist of all keywords on the current page. You can see each keyword with its search volume, keyword difficulty, and CPC metrics. Select any number of keywords using checkboxes, choose your target list from the dropdown, and click Import. The tool then automatically processes each selected keyword — opening the "Add to list" menu, selecting your target list, and confirming the import. This turns what could be dozens of manual operations into a single batch action, making keyword research organization significantly faster and more efficient.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs exclusively on the Ahrefs web application in your browser. It activates on the keyword list page, keyword explorer, and keyword generator views within the Ahrefs dashboard. It requires the BotGentz extension to inject and execute the script. The tool does not work on the Ahrefs mobile app, the API, or any third-party Ahrefs clients — only the web-based Ahrefs interface accessed through a Chromium-based or Firefox browser. It specifically targets pages under *.ahrefs.com, including the Ahrefs keyword research and list management views.

HOW TO USE

After installing the script via BotGentz, navigate to any Ahrefs keyword page — the Keyword Explorer, Keyword Generator, or your existing keyword lists. The tool automatically detects the keyword list and displays a floating panel on the right side. The panel shows all keywords on the current page, with checkboxes next to each keyword entry. Each keyword displays its term, search volume, keyword difficulty, and CPC. Use the search box to filter by keyword text to narrow down your selection. Check the boxes for every keyword you want to import. Below the keyword list, select your target list from the dropdown — this loads available keyword lists from your Ahrefs account. Click "Import Selected" and confirm the action. The tool will process each selected keyword one by one — opening the add-to-list menu, selecting your target list, and confirming the import. A status message appears when the operation completes, showing how many keywords were successfully imported.

THE ACTUAL MECHANISM — WHY IT WORKS

Ahrefs' web interface is built with React and uses a component-based rendering system for its keyword management. The keyword list is rendered as table rows or list items, each containing keyword metadata and action buttons. This tool scans the DOM for keyword items using multiple selector patterns that Ahrefs consistently uses across versions. For each keyword, it extracts the keyword text, search volume, keyword difficulty, and CPC from the visible text content and data attributes. Each keyword is assigned a unique identifier from data attributes or checkbox values. When importing, the tool locates the action menu button on each keyword item and triggers a click event that opens the "Add to list" menu. The tool then waits for the list selection modal to appear, selects the target list from the dropdown using React-friendly event dispatching — setting the value via the native setter and dispatching both "input" and "change" events to ensure React registers the update. The tool then clicks the modal's add/confirm button, waits for the modal to close, and proceeds to the next keyword. This approach works without making direct API calls, which would require authentication credentials and knowledge of Ahrefs' internal API structure. By using the existing UI, the tool works within Ahrefs' own permission and validation system, and continues to function even if the underlying API changes.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable — click and drag the header to reposition it anywhere on the page. The panel's position is saved per site in localStorage, so it reappears exactly where you left it when you return to the keyword page. Double-click the header to snap the panel to the nearest edge (left or right). A collapse button minimizes the panel to a small tab showing a list emoji badge, keeping it out of the way while still accessible. The keyword list inside the panel is scrollable and resizes vertically based on the number of keywords. Pressing Escape while the panel is focused closes it completely; reopening is done via a small button injected near the page toolbar. All panel interactions are non-blocking — Ahrefs' main UI remains fully responsive while the panel is open, and the panel updates automatically when you navigate between projects or pages.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the BotGentz extension (free) to run user scripts on Ahrefs. Ahrefs frequently updates its web interface and modal structures; if the tool stops working, check for an updated version within BotGentz's script repository. This tool does not store, transmit, or log any keyword data, search volume information, or list details — all operations occur locally in your browser with no external network requests except those made by Ahrefs itself. Keyword imports are applied through Ahrefs' own UI event system, so all changes respect your account permissions and list capacity limits. The tool does not bypass Ahrefs' security or permission system; it simply automates the clicks you would otherwise perform manually. For pages with a large number of keywords, the tool may take several minutes to complete the operation, as each keyword is processed sequentially with delays to avoid overwhelming the UI. A progress indicator shows which keyword is currently being processed. Always double-check your selections and target list before applying changes, as importing many keywords can affect your list organization and project structure. The tool only affects keywords visible on the current page; to import all keywords, use Ahrefs' built-in pagination controls or adjust your filters to show all relevant keywords. The target list dropdown is populated from lists detected on the page; if your desired list is not visible, ensure it appears in the Ahrefs interface before using the tool.
