The output is organised into five clear sections: a title and status (proposed, accepted, or deprecated) that tracks the decision lifecycle, context (1-2 sentences) describing the situation, a clear decision statement (2-3 sentences) articulating what was chosen, rationale (3-5 key reasons) explaining why, and consequences (2-3 trade-offs) to consider. This removes hours of manual documentation and helps your engineering teams capture architectural decisions consistently, making them accessible for future reference and onboarding.

HOW TO USE

Open the agent inside BotSurf. Paste your OpenAI API key once (it stays locally in your browser). In the input box, paste your technical decision description, context, and alternatives. Press the "Record decision" button. Within seconds, the agent returns your structured ADR. Copy it, share it with your engineering team, or store it in your architecture documentation repository.

WHAT IT SENDS

The agent sends exactly the text you paste into the input box—nothing more, nothing less. It does not access your browser history, files, emails, or any other data. It does not send any identifying metadata beyond the content you explicitly submit. The only external transmission is that text to the AI API. Usage logs record only the count of runs for billing purposes; they do not store, log, or transmit the content of your decision details or the generated ADR. Your data and the generated output remain solely on your device unless you choose to save or share them.
