You provide the source details—author, title, publication, date, URL, or any combination—in plain text, and the agent returns a correctly ordered and punctuated bibliography entry. Choose from APA, MLA, Chicago, or Harvard styles. The output includes a formatted citation and a plain-text version ready for copy-pasting into your bibliography or works cited page. No more flipping through style guides or second-guessing punctuation.

HOW TO USE

Open the agent in BotSurf from your library. After pasting your API key once (handled securely by the host), select your citation style from the dropdown menu (APA, MLA, Chicago, or Harvard). Then enter your source information into the text area. You can type it in any format—the agent will extract the relevant details. Click "Format citation" or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac). The agent processes your input and returns a properly formatted citation with the plain-text version. You can also highlight source information from any webpage, document, or database and click "Use selection" to auto-fill. Try the example tags above the input to see how different source types are handled—books, journal articles, websites, book chapters, and dissertations. Copy the plain-text version to your clipboard and paste it directly into your bibliography.

WHAT IT SENDS

When you press "Format citation," the agent sends only the text you entered in the source field and the selected citation style. Nothing else. No browsing history, no cookies, no account data, no hidden telemetry. The request is a simple text prompt to the AI model. The host records usage counts for billing (each press counts as one run) but does not log or store the content of your source information or formatted citations. Your research remains private.

This agent costs $19.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial. You receive 100 runs per billing cycle—enough to format citations for multiple sources, bibliographies, or reference lists. Cancel anytime from your BotSurf account settings. Unused runs do not roll over.

THE PANEL

The agent runs in a draggable, resizable panel that snaps to screen edges. Collapse it to a floating bubble (✨) when you need more screen space, and expand it again with one click. Press Escape to close the panel. The panel remembers its position across sessions via secure state storage.
