About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Bulk Job Posting Comparison Exporter solves a common challenge for job seekers: comparing multiple job opportunities side-by-side is difficult when they're spread across different tabs, boards, or applications. While each job board shows individual listings, none provide a way to compare postings across companies, locations, salaries, and requirements in one unified view. This tool reads job postings from supported job board pages (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, ZipRecruiter), extracts structured data including job titles, companies, locations, salary ranges, job descriptions, posting dates, and direct application URLs. It displays all visible job postings in a scrollable checklist, then generates a side-by-side comparison table showing selected jobs as columns and attributes as rows. You can add scoring/ranking columns for interest level, commute, and match score, which are preserved in the export. The comparison can be exported as a CSV for spreadsheets or as a styled HTML report for easy sharing and printing.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension panel runs directly inside your browser as an overlay on supported job board pages. It works on LinkedIn Jobs, Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, and ZipRecruiter search results and job listing pages. The tool detects job postings regardless of the site's layout, extracting consistent structured data across platforms. It requires no additional API keys or permissions beyond the BotGentz extension.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension and activating Bulk Job Posting Comparison Exporter, navigate to a job search results page on any supported job board. Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel. The tool automatically detects all job postings displayed on the current page. Each job appears with its title, company, location, and indicators for salary and remote status. Use the "Select All" toggle or individually check jobs to choose which ones to compare. Optionally, set interest, commute, and match scores (1-10) in the scoring section — these will appear in the comparison table. Choose your export format: CSV for spreadsheet analysis or HTML for a styled report. A live preview shows the comparison table before you finalize. Click "Copy to Clipboard" to copy the data or "Download File" to save it with a timestamped filename.

TECHNICAL OPERATION — Cross-Platform Job Data Extraction

Unlike API-based solutions that require per-platform integrations, this tool uses a flexible DOM traversal strategy that adapts to each job board's structure. It employs a cascading selector approach, trying platform-specific selectors first (e.g., `.job-card-container` for LinkedIn, `.jobsearch-result` for Indeed) and falling back to generic job-related element selectors. For each job element, the tool extracts structured data by looking for common class names and data attributes that job boards consistently use to label titles, companies, locations, salaries, and descriptions. The extracted data is normalized into a uniform schema with fields for title, company, location, salary, description, date, remote status, experience level, and URL. The comparison export transforms this normalized data into either CSV format with proper field quoting for Excel compatibility, or a styled HTML table with column-based job comparison, color-coded remote badges, and score columns. User-provided scores are stored per-site using GM_setValue and applied to all selected jobs during export.

THE PANEL

The extension panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per site session. It snaps to the nearest edge of the browser viewport when dragged within 50 pixels of any side. You can collapse the panel to a compact title bar using the minimize button, preserving your selection state. The panel resizes vertically by dragging the bottom edge. Press the Escape key to close the panel instantly without losing your job selection. The live preview updates in real-time as you change export settings and selection.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz browser extension to function. The script does not use job board APIs and cannot access job postings stored outside the currently visible page. It only sees jobs that are rendered in the page's DOM. For best results, scroll to load all job listings before opening the panel. Job board UI structures may change over time, which could affect job detection; we monitor and release compatibility updates as needed. The tool does not store, transmit, or log any job data, personal information, or scoring details. All operations occur locally in your browser session. The exported comparison data is for your personal use and should be handled according to your data privacy practices.
