About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Community Guidelines Summarizer is a productivity tool that extracts community guidelines, forum rules, codes of conduct, and moderation policies from any webpage and produces a clear, plain-language summary. It identifies key behavioral expectations, prohibited actions, reporting procedures, and enforcement policies from often lengthy and complex community documents, transforming them into straightforward, actionable guidance. The AI-generated summary highlights what behavior is expected, what is prohibited, how to report violations, and what consequences may apply. You can review the summary in the panel and copy it for reference, sharing with community members, or for personal understanding before participating in a community.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage containing community guidelines, forum rules, codes of conduct, moderation policies, or similar community governance documents. Common sources include online forums, social media platforms, gaming communities, open source project pages, professional networks, and educational platforms.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any page that contains community guidelines or a code of conduct. Open the BotGentz extension and select Community Guidelines Summarizer from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Click the "Scan & Summarize" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant text and sends it to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a structured summary in the panel that breaks down expected behaviors, prohibited actions, reporting procedures, and enforcement policies in plain English. Review the summary, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for reference or sharing.
TECHNICAL SECTION — BEHAVIORAL POLICY PATTERN RECOGNITION
This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on community governance and policy language patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing policy indicators such as "guidelines," "rules," "code of conduct," "behavior," "prohibited," "expectations," "report," "moderation," and "enforcement." Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures sentence structure, heading hierarchies, and list organization typical of policy documents. Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being part of community guidelines, using features like imperative verb frequency ("must," "should," "shall not"), conditional clauses, section numbering patterns, and penalty language density. Fourth, the system applies thematic clustering to group related passages into four core categories: expected behaviors, prohibited actions, reporting procedures, and enforcement policies. Finally, the structured clusters are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to output only these four categories, reducing hallucination and ensuring consistent, reliable summaries.
THE PANEL
The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active subscription to access the AI summarization feature. AI-generated summaries are for assistance only and should be reviewed for accuracy before relying on them, as policy interpretation may occasionally omit nuances or reflect outdated versions. Websites change their structure frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API; no browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
