About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Contract Red Flag Highlighter extracts the content from any contract, legal agreement, or terms of service and uses advanced AI to identify potentially problematic clauses, one-sided terms, hidden fees, liability shifts, and other red flags. It presents each issue with a clear explanation of why it's concerning, a severity rating (high/medium/low), and suggested negotiation points or alternative language. This helps you understand the risks before signing and negotiate better terms.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool operates as a userscript within the BotGentz extension framework, running directly in your browser on any website. It works on contracts, terms of service, privacy policies, rental agreements, employment contracts, and virtually any legal document. The tool integrates seamlessly into your workflow, appearing as a draggable panel that stays accessible as you review agreements.
HOW TO USE
Click "Scan Page" to automatically extract the contract content from the current page. The tool intelligently identifies the legal document and key sections. Configure your analysis settings: choose your desired sensitivity level (Low, Medium, or High) to control detection aggressiveness, toggle suggested alternative language on or off for practical negotiation points, and toggle severity categorization on or off to see priority levels. Click "Analyze Contract" to send the agreement to the AI backend. Within moments, you'll receive a detailed analysis of red flags. Use the "Copy Analysis" button to save it for reference or to share with a legal advisor.
TECHNICAL OPERATION
Contract Red Flag Highlighter employs a multi-strategy extraction pipeline that first checks for selected text, then attempts WebMCP (navigator.modelContext) when available—a W3C proposal for structured page content access—and falls back to DOM-based content detection using prioritized selectors for contract containers, legal document sections, and content areas. The user's sensitivity preference, alternative language setting, and severity categorization toggle are encoded as system-level instructions in the prompt sent to the AI. The text is truncated to 8000 characters and transmitted via GM_xmlhttpRequest to the AI backend. The AI, specifically prompted as a contract analysis specialist, scans the document for common red flag patterns including: unilateral modification rights, excessive fees and penalties, one-sided liability and indemnification clauses, automatic renewal and termination restrictions, vague or ambiguous language, hidden costs, and restrictive governing law provisions. It categorizes each issue by severity, explains the risk, and suggests alternative language or negotiation points based on best practices and fair contract standards. Each request is authenticated with a subscription key and counts against your monthly usage cap.
THE PANEL
The Contract Red Flag Highlighter panel is fully draggable and remembers its position between sessions using GM_setValue. It snaps to the edge of the viewport for a clean interface and can be collapsed to a small icon when not in use. The panel is resizable to accommodate longer content. Press Escape to quickly close or collapse the panel. The design is optimized for productivity with a dark theme, clear visual hierarchy, and responsive controls that adapt to your workflow.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension installed in your browser and an active subscription to access the AI backend. AI-generated contract analysis is intended as an aid for identifying potential concerns and should not replace professional legal review. Always consult a qualified attorney for legal advice before signing any contract, as laws vary by jurisdiction and specific facts can change the analysis. The tool may not identify all issues or account for all legal nuances. No page data is stored or transmitted beyond the content you explicitly submit for analysis. All processing occurs through secure HTTPS connections, and your subscription key is never exposed to the page context.
