This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage displaying task descriptions, project summaries, ticket details, assignment briefs, or similar project tracking content. Common sources include project management platforms (Jira, Trello, Asana), issue trackers, internal assignment systems, and team collaboration tools.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any page that displays a task description, project summary, ticket details, or assignment brief. Open the BotGentz extension and select Email Reply Handing Off a Task from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Enter your full name, email address, and the recipient's name in the provided fields (your name and email are stored locally for future use). Optionally, add any additional context in the context field. Select your preferred detail level (brief or detailed) from the dropdown menu. Click the "Draft Handoff" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant task information and sends it along with your details to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a professional, clear handoff email in the panel. Review the draft, make any edits directly in the panel, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for use in your email client.

TECHNICAL SECTION — TASK AND PROJECT STATUS EXTRACTION

This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on task management and project tracking patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing task indicators such as "task," "ticket," "issue," "project," "summary," "status," "priority," "assignee," "deadline," "description," "subtask," and "blocker." Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures both the task data and surrounding structural markers (status labels, priority badges, date fields, assignee names, comment threads). Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being part of a task description using features like action-oriented language frequency ("complete," "review," "implement," "fix," "test"), status marker patterns ("in progress," "blocked," "done," "todo"), reference numbers, and progress indicators. Fourth, the system applies semantic clustering to group related content into four core categories: what has been completed, what remains to be done, any blockers or dependencies, and additional context or notes. Finally, the structured clusters, combined with the user's provided information (name, email, recipient name, context, and detail level), are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to generate a complete handoff email with standardized sections (greeting, summary of completed work, outline of remaining work, context notes, next steps, and polite closing), reducing hallucination and ensuring a professional, contextually appropriate draft.

THE PANEL

The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.

Websites change their task tracking formats frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API; your personal information (name, email, recipient name) is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the AI as part of the draft generation. No browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
