WHAT IT DOES

Etsy Seller Stats Overlay automatically detects and extracts key statistics from any Etsy shop page, displaying them in a clean, compact overlay panel. The tool captures total sales, review count, favorites (hearts), listing count, and shop age (years since joining). It also calculates a performance tier based on total sales, showing labels like "Top Seller," "Established," "Growing," "New," or "Starting Out" with color-coded indicators. This gives you instant insight into a seller's reputation and activity level without manually scanning the page.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on Etsy at www.etsy.com. It functions on shop pages (/shop/*), listing pages that show seller information, and any page displaying shop statistics. The tool automatically detects shop data regardless of where it appears on the page and adapts to Etsy's frequently updated design.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to any Etsy shop page. The overlay panel appears with the seller's statistics. Use the overlay panel to customize which stats are displayed: toggle total sales, reviews, favorites, listings, and shop age on or off. Switch to "Compact view" for a smaller, more condensed display. Toggle the tool on or off for the current site using the "Enable on this site" control. Click "Refresh Stats" to manually re-scan the page if stats don't appear immediately or after navigating to a new shop.

TECHNICAL SECTION — ETSY STATS EXTRACTION

The extension uses a multi-strategy extraction engine to find shop statistics on Etsy pages. It first searches for known stat containers using CSS selectors targeting data-stat attributes, shop-stats classes, and seller-info sections. It then applies regex pattern matching to extract numerical values from text content, looking for patterns like "123 sales," "456 reviews," "789 favorites," or "10 listings." The tool also scans for the shop's joined date to calculate shop age. For pages where stats are not in standard containers, the tool falls back to a full-page scan using regex patterns to locate statistics anywhere in the page content. The extracted data is normalized and presented with formatting suitable for quick scanning, and a performance tier is calculated based on total sales count using five predefined thresholds.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current stats status; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or Etsy data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The extension reads statistics visible on the page and does not access Etsy's API or any data beyond what is displayed. Etsy may update its page structure; the extension includes multiple extraction strategies to maintain compatibility, but major redesigns may temporarily affect stats detection. The performance tier is a simple categorization based on sales count and is provided for reference only — it is not an official Etsy metric.
