About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Lowe's Web Store Inventory Checker reads inventory status and store availability from Lowe's product pages and displays a clear, color-coded inventory badge directly on the product page. The badge shows whether a product is in stock, out of stock, limited, or unavailable. The extension also displays a list of nearby stores with their availability status, highlighting which stores have the product in stock. Store entries are color-coded with green borders for available stores and dimmed for unavailable ones. The extension stores your favorite store names and zip code preferences for quick access. A "Check Availability" button lets you manually refresh the inventory status at any time. The product name and SKU are displayed for easy reference.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all Lowe's pages at lowes.com and its subdomains, specifically on product detail pages where inventory and store availability are displayed. It runs on the main product view, the product listing page, and any page showing product pricing and availability. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Lowe's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to lowes.com and open any product page. The extension automatically scans the page and displays an inventory status badge on the product. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the panel. The panel shows the product name, SKU, a color-coded inventory status badge, and a list of nearby stores with availability status. Use the "Check Availability" button to manually refresh the inventory status. Enter your zip code in the settings section to customize store search location. Enter your favorite store names (comma-separated) to customize the store list. The "Refresh" button manually updates the panel with the latest product information.

SELECTOR-BASED INVENTORY EXTRACTION WITH STATUS CLASSIFICATION

Unlike simple page scrapers, this extension uses a fallback chain of inventory status selectors to detect stock information from Lowe's varying page layouts. It attempts multiple class patterns for inventory status (.inventory-status, .stock-status, .availability) and falls back to the next if the first fails. The status text is then classified into one of four categories—in-stock, out-of-stock, limited, or unavailable—using keyword matching. The store availability list uses the detected inventory status to simulate nearby store availability, with store names customizable via user settings. The extension also extracts product name and SKU using a prioritized selector chain, making it resilient to page structure changes. The product name is used for display, and the SKU is shown for product identification.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on lowes.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, zip code, and favorite stores, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Lowe's website changes periodically, and product element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting inventory status until an update is released. The extension stores your zip code, favorite stores list, and panel settings locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. The store availability list is simulated based on the product's detected inventory status—it does not make real-time API calls to Lowe's systems and should not be used as a definitive source of store inventory. For accurate inventory information, please check Lowe's official website or contact stores directly. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for lowes.com.
