WHAT IT DOES

Price Match Guarantee Reminder Badge helps you save money by reminding you when a retailer offers a price match guarantee on products you're viewing. The script detects product prices on any webpage and checks if the retailer has a price match policy—Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, Lowe's, and many others. A visible badge appears next to the product price showing the price match policy status with a green check for available, gray for not available, or blue for unknown. Click the badge to open the retailer's price match policy page in a new tab. The script tracks price history over time, storing previous prices you've seen for products. When a lower price is detected compared to a previous visit, you receive a notification. The dashboard shows all tracked products with price history, recent changes, and retailer policy links.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs on every website (matching all URLs), detecting prices across the entire web. It works on major retailer sites, product pages, and any page displaying product prices. The script automatically adapts to each page and handles both static and dynamically loaded content.

HOW TO USE

After installing through the BotGentz extension, simply browse to any product page. The script automatically detects the price and checks if the retailer offers a price match guarantee. A badge appears next to the price showing the status. Click the badge to open the retailer's policy page. Use the configuration panel to customize your experience: toggle the price match badge on or off, show or hide the countdown timer, enable or disable lower price alerts, set the check interval in minutes, and enable or disable auto-detection. The panel displays real-time statistics including tracked products and total price checks. Use the "Check Current Price" button to manually check the current page, or "Clear Price History" to remove all stored price data.

PRICE DETECTION WITH RETAILER POLICY MAPPING AND HISTORICAL TRACKING

This script implements a price detection engine using regex pattern matching to extract prices from page text. The engine scans for currency patterns with 25+ variations including "$99.99", "99.99 USD", and "price: $99.99" formats. The retailer mapping system identifies 13+ major retailers by hostname and provides their specific price match policies including policy descriptions, match windows (14-90 days), and direct policy page URLs. The price history storage uses GM_setValue with a product key structure (productName_retailer) that tracks up to 20 price points per product with timestamps and URLs. The alert system compares current prices against the most recent stored price and triggers GM_notification when a decrease is detected. The badge injection system finds price elements using common CSS selectors and inserts interactive badges with click-to-open policy functionality.

THE PANEL

The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including badge visibility, countdown display, price alerts, auto-detection, and check interval—are persisted across sessions.

It does not capture, store, or transmit any personal information. All price history data is stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and never transmitted to external servers. Price match policies are based on public information and may change—always verify the current policy on the retailer's official website.
