WHAT IT DOES

Printful Web Margin Calculator Overlay reads product price and production cost from Printful product pages and displays a floating margin calculator overlay showing your profit margin, markup percentage, and suggested retail price. The badge shows the margin percentage with color coding—green for high margins (over 50%), yellow for medium, and red for low margins (under 20%). A live input field lets you enter different retail prices to see how margins change in real time. The overlay displays the product cost, retail price, markup percentage, and a suggested "2x cost" price. The extension tracks margin history per product, storing each margin calculation with a timestamp. The panel displays your current margin, history, and product name.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all Printful pages at printful.com and its subdomains, specifically on product pages where pricing and cost information are displayed. It runs on the main product view, the catalog page, the pricing page, and any page displaying product pricing information. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Printful's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to printful.com and open any product page. The extension automatically creates a floating margin calculator overlay on the page. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings panel. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the badge visibility. The overlay shows your margin percentage, retail price, cost, and suggested price. Adjust the retail price by entering a value in the input field—margins update in real time. Use the "Refresh" button to manually update the overlay with the latest product information. The default markup preference (1.5x, 2.0x, 2.5x, or 3.0x) sets the initial suggested price. Adjust the overlay transparency using the opacity dropdown (70%, 82%, 92%, or 100%). Drag the overlay by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the overlay with the × button.

PRODUCT COST EXTRACTION WITH REAL-TIME MARGIN CALCULATION

Unlike simple price display tools, this extension uses a multi-selector extraction engine to find product cost and price from Printful's varying page structures. It searches for cost using multiple selector patterns (.production-cost, .cost, .base-price) and falls back to text parsing with number extraction. Retail price is extracted from price selectors. The margin calculator uses a live input field that triggers recalculation on every keystroke, updating the margin percentage, markup percentage, and display colors. The calculation engine computes profit margin as (retail price - cost) / retail price and markup percentage as (retail price - cost) / cost. Per-product margin history is stored as a key-value object where keys are product identifiers and values are arrays of margin records with timestamps, limited to 20 entries per product. The default markup preference controls the initial suggested retail price when no price is detected.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on printful.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, opacity, default markup preference, and per-product margin history, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Printful's website changes periodically, and product element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting pricing data until an update is released. The extension stores your overlay position, size, opacity, visibility, default markup preference, and per-product margin history locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. Margin history is stored as a key-value object where keys are product identifiers and values are arrays of margin records. The pricing displayed is read from the page—the extension does not access Printful's internal pricing data. Always verify with Printful directly for the most accurate product cost and pricing information. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for printful.com.
