WHAT IT DOES

School Portal Grade Digest automatically detects grades and assignments on school portal pages — including PowerSchool, Canvas, Blackboard, and other learning management systems — and aggregates them into a compact, easy-to-read overlay. The digest shows all current grades with color-coded indicators (green for A, yellow for B, orange for C, red for D/F), calculates your GPA, and displays class averages when available. A summary of upcoming assignments helps you stay on top of your coursework. This gives you a complete picture of your academic standing without navigating between multiple pages.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on any website that displays grades or assignments. It functions on PowerSchool, Canvas, Blackboard, Schoology, Google Classroom, and other school portals. The tool works across all domains and adapts to various grade display formats and grading scales.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to your school portal's grade page. A compact grade digest appears in the bottom-left corner showing all your current grades, GPA, and class averages. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle the grade digest on or off, toggle GPA display on or off, toggle class average display on or off, adjust the refresh interval in seconds (10-600), and click "Refresh Grades" to manually update the digest. The status area shows how many grades were detected. The digest updates automatically at the configured interval and when the page changes.

TECHNICAL SECTION — GRADE DETECTION AND AGGREGATION ENGINE

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find grades on school portal pages. It scans for grade-related selectors (.grade, .assignment-grade, .score, .grade-value) and extracts grade patterns including letter grades (A+, A, A-, etc.), percentages, and score/possible formats. Each detected grade is mapped to a GPA point value using a standard 4.0 scale, and the GPA is calculated as the average of all detected grades. Class names are extracted from parent elements, and class averages are calculated from percentage values when available. The digest is created using DOM manipulation with inline CSS, and color-coding follows a standard grading scale. A MutationObserver monitors for page changes, and the digest updates automatically at the configured interval.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current GPA; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or grade information is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads grade information visible on the page and does not access any school portal API or private data. Grade detection accuracy depends on the page structure and grading format used by the specific school portal. The GPA calculation uses a standard 4.0 scale and may not match your school's specific grading system. The tool is for informational purposes only and should not be used as the sole source of grade information.
