About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Auction Listing Summarizer reads auction listing pages—eBay, Sotheby's, Heritage Auctions, and others—and uses AI to produce a concise summary of the item being auctioned. It extracts key information: item title and description, condition, estimated value or starting bid, current bid, number of bids, time remaining, seller information, shipping details, and any notable features or flaws mentioned. The AI output is a short bulleted summary highlighting the most important details a bidder needs to know before placing a bid, including a quick risk/opportunity assessment.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on auction listing pages, item detail pages, bid history pages, and seller profile pages.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any auction listing page. Open the panel and click "Summarize Auction." The tool will scan the page for auction content—item description, condition, bids, time remaining, seller information, and shipping details—and send the extracted text to the AI for analysis. Within seconds, you'll receive a clear summary with all the key details and a risk/opportunity assessment. Use the settings to customize the output: include or exclude bidding details, seller information, and condition, and choose bullet points or plain text format.
TECHNICAL MECHANISM
The tool uses smart content extraction to locate auction data across diverse auction platforms. It scans for common auction selectors (auction, auction-listing, item-listing, bid-section, time-remaining, current-bid, bid-history, seller-info, shipping-details, item-condition, estimate, lot-details) and falls back to keyword-based detection (auction, bid, seller, starting bid, current bid, time remaining, estimate, condition, shipping, lot) when needed. It also captures price, bid, and time information. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that identifies key auction details and generates a structured summary with a risk assessment. The AI is instructed to return a summary under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, just the auction summary. The response is formatted as a clean bulleted list.
THE PANEL
The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be researched further before placing any bids. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
