WHAT IT DOES

Warranty Terms Summarizer reads warranty policy pages and sections from any website—product pages, manufacturer sites, retailer warranty pages—and uses AI to produce a concise, plain-language summary of the key warranty terms. It extracts the most important details: warranty duration (years or months), coverage scope (parts, labor, accidental damage), exclusions (what is not covered), claim process (how to file a claim, contact information), transferability (whether the warranty transfers to a new owner), and any registration requirements. The AI output is a short bulleted list covering the essential terms you need to know before purchasing a product.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on product detail pages, dedicated warranty pages, manufacturer support pages, and footer links.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any page that contains a warranty policy—a product page with a warranty section, a dedicated warranty page, or a manufacturer's support page. Open the panel and click "Summarize Warranty." The tool will scan the page for warranty content, extract the relevant text, and send it to the AI for summarization. Within seconds, you'll receive a clean, bulleted summary of the key terms. Use the settings to customize the output: include or exclude exclusions and claim process details, choose bullet points or plain text format, and select brief or detailed length.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses smart content extraction to locate warranty policy text across diverse website structures. It scans for common warranty selectors (warranty, warranty-policy, warranty-info, product-warranty, guarantee) and falls back to keyword-based detection (warranty, guarantee, coverage, parts, labor, claim, transferable, registration) when needed. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that identifies and extracts key warranty elements: duration, coverage scope, exclusions, claim process, transferability, and registration requirements. The AI is instructed to return a structured, customer-friendly summary under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, no meta-commentary, just the essential terms. The response is formatted as a clean bulleted list for easy reading.

THE PANEL

The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be verified against the official warranty policy before making purchasing decisions. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
