WHAT IT DOES

Return Policy Summarizer reads return policy pages and sections from any e-commerce store, brand site, or retailer, and uses AI to produce a concise, plain-language summary of the key terms. It extracts the most important details: return window (number of days allowed), condition requirements (unused, original packaging, tags attached), refund method (full refund, store credit, exchange), restocking fees, who pays return shipping, and any exceptions (final sale items, electronics, custom products). The AI output is a short bulleted list covering the essential terms you need to know before buying.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on product pages, dedicated policy pages, checkout pages, and footer links.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any page that contains a return policy—a product page with a policy section, a dedicated returns page, or a footer link. Open the panel and click "Summarize Return Policy." The tool will scan the page for policy content, extract the relevant text, and send it to the AI for summarization. Within seconds, you'll receive a clean, bulleted summary of the key terms. Use the settings to customize the output: include or exclude exceptions and shipping details, choose bullet points or plain text format, and select brief or detailed length.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses smart content extraction to locate return policy text across diverse website structures. It scans for common policy selectors (return-policy, returns-policy, refund-policy, shipping-returns) and falls back to keyword-based detection when needed. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that identifies and extracts key policy elements: return window, condition requirements, refund type, fees, shipping terms, and exceptions. The AI is instructed to return a structured, shopper-friendly summary under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, no meta-commentary, just the essential terms. The response is formatted as a clean bulleted list for easy reading.

THE PANEL

The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be verified against the official policy before making purchasing decisions. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
