WHAT IT DOES

Car Listing Summarizer reads car listing pages—AutoTrader, Cars.com, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, dealer sites, and others—and uses AI to produce a concise summary of the vehicle. It extracts key information: make, model, year, trim, mileage, price, engine type, transmission, drivetrain, exterior color, interior color, condition, features (leather seats, sunroof, navigation, etc.), accident history, number of owners, service history, warranty status, and any notable selling points or issues mentioned. The AI output is a short bulleted summary highlighting the most important details a buyer needs to know before contacting the seller.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on car listing pages, dealer sites, classifieds, and marketplace listings.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any car listing you are interested in. Open the panel and click "Summarize Car." The tool will scan the page for vehicle details—make, model, year, mileage, price, features, history, and more—and send the extracted text to the AI for analysis. Within seconds, you'll receive a clear summary with all the key details. Use the settings to customize the output: include or exclude vehicle details, history, and features, and choose bullet points or plain text format.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses smart content extraction to locate vehicle data across diverse listing platforms. It scans for common car listing selectors (car-listing, vehicle-listing, auto-listing, car-details, vehicle-details, specs, features, car-description, price, mileage, vin, condition, history) and falls back to keyword-based detection (car, vehicle, auto, mileage, price, engine, transmission, drivetrain, color, condition, features, accident, owner, warranty, make, model, year) when needed. It also captures price and mileage data. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that identifies key vehicle details and generates a structured summary. The AI is instructed to return a summary under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, just the car summary. The response is formatted as a clean bulleted list.

THE PANEL

The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be verified with a mechanic and a vehicle history report before purchasing. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
