The tool provides a clear analysis of what customers love, what they complain about, and the general sentiment—helping you make informed purchasing decisions without reading through dozens of reviews in a foreign language.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool operates as a userscript within the BotGentz extension framework, running directly in your browser on any e-commerce website. It works on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Etsy, and virtually any online marketplace with customer reviews. The tool integrates seamlessly into your workflow, appearing as a draggable panel that stays accessible as you research products and compare options.

HOW TO USE

Click "Scan Page" to automatically extract customer reviews from the current product page. The tool intelligently identifies review content, ratings, and feedback. Alternatively, select text on the page before scanning to process only that portion. Select your target language from eight options (Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, or Russian). Configure your settings: toggle common theme summarization on or off to identify recurring patterns, and toggle positive vs. negative feedback highlighting on or off. Click "Translate & Analyze" to send the reviews to the AI backend. Within moments, you'll receive a translated review summary with key insights. Use the "Copy Analysis" button to save it for reference.

TECHNICAL OPERATION

Foreign Review Translator employs a multi-strategy extraction pipeline that first checks for selected text, then attempts WebMCP (navigator.modelContext) when available—a W3C proposal for structured page content access—and falls back to DOM-based content detection using prioritized selectors for review containers, comment sections, and feedback areas. The user's target language selection, theme summarization preference, and feedback highlighting setting are encoded as system-level instructions in the prompt sent to the AI. The text is truncated to 8000 characters and transmitted via GM_xmlhttpRequest to the AI backend. The AI, specifically prompted as a review analysis specialist, performs a multi-stage process: it identifies individual reviews, separates ratings from text content, translates text into the target language, performs sentiment analysis to categorize feedback as positive, negative, or neutral, and identifies recurring themes across multiple reviews. The output presents a structured analysis with translated review content, sentiment categorization, and a summary of common praise points and issues. Each request is authenticated with a subscription key and counts against your monthly usage cap.

THE PANEL

The Foreign Review Translator panel is fully draggable and remembers its position between sessions using GM_setValue. It snaps to the edge of the viewport for a clean interface and can be collapsed to a small icon when not in use. The panel is resizable to accommodate longer content. Press Escape to quickly close or collapse the panel. The design is optimized for productivity with a dark theme, clear visual hierarchy, and responsive controls that adapt to your workflow.

AI-generated translations and sentiment analysis are intended as aids for understanding customer feedback and should be reviewed for accuracy. Machine translation may not capture all nuances, slang, or cultural context. Always consider the overall review volume and verify critical concerns from original reviews when possible. No page data is stored or transmitted beyond the content you explicitly submit for analysis. All processing occurs through secure HTTPS connections, and your subscription key is never exposed to the page context.
