WHAT IT DOES

Listing Photo Description Generator reads product listing titles, descriptions, category tags, and key features from marketplace listings—eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and others—and uses AI to generate a search-engine-friendly, detailed description of the listing's main photo. It extracts key product attributes: product type, color, condition, style, visible features, brand, and any text visible in the photo area. The AI output is a short, descriptive paragraph or bulleted list that accurately describes what the photo shows, optimized for search visibility and buyer understanding.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on marketplace listing pages, product detail pages, and classified ad pages.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any marketplace listing page that has a main product photo. Open the panel and click "Generate Photo Description." The tool will scan the page for listing context—title, description, category, photo alt text, and surrounding content—and send the extracted text to the AI for analysis. Within seconds, you'll receive a detailed, search-friendly description of the main photo. Use the settings to customize the output: include or exclude search keywords, condition, and visual details, and choose paragraph or bullet point format.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses smart content extraction to locate listing context across diverse marketplace platforms. It scans for common listing selectors (listing-title, product-title, item-title, listing-description, product-description, item-description, category, tags) and also captures photo alt text and title attributes from image elements. It falls back to keyword-based detection (listing, product, item, description, details, condition, brand, color, size) when needed. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that identifies key product attributes and generates a descriptive photo description optimized for search. The AI is instructed to return a structured description under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, just the photo description. The response is formatted as a paragraph or bulleted list.

THE PANEL

The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be reviewed and edited before using. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
