About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Marketplace Listing Red Flag Detector reads marketplace listings, product descriptions, seller profiles, and reviews from platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, eBay, and similar sites, and uses AI to detect potential red flags and scam indicators. It analyzes for suspicious patterns: prices that seem too good to be true, vague or copy-pasted descriptions, sellers with no history or recent activity, pressure tactics (urgent sale, limited time), inconsistent details, requests for payment outside the platform, and other common scam patterns. The AI output is a concise risk assessment with a red-flag rating (Low/Medium/High) and a bulleted list of specific concerns and cautions for the buyer.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on product listing pages, item detail pages, seller profile pages, and review sections.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any marketplace listing you're considering. Open the panel and click "Detect Red Flags." The tool will scan the page for listing content, seller information, and reviews, and send the extracted text to the AI for analysis. Within seconds, you'll receive a risk assessment with a clear rating and a list of specific concerns. Use the settings to customize the analysis: include or exclude seller history, price analysis, and review analysis, and adjust risk sensitivity from low (clear red flags only) to balanced to high (flag all concerns).
TECHNICAL MECHANISM
The tool uses smart content extraction to locate listing details across diverse marketplace platforms. It scans for common listing selectors (listing, listing-page, product-listing, item-listing, ad-content, seller-profile, reviews) and falls back to keyword-based detection (price, sell, buy, marketplace, condition, shipping, payment) when needed. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that analyzes for known scam patterns: unrealistic pricing, vague descriptions, seller history gaps, pressure tactics, inconsistency, and off-platform payment requests. The AI is instructed to return a structured risk assessment under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, just the risk rating and specific concerns. The response is formatted as a clean, bulleted list with the risk rating highlighted.
THE PANEL
The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be reviewed with your own judgment before making purchasing decisions. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
