WHAT IT DOES

Product Listing Summarizer reads the current page's product listing details—including product name, description, features, price, and specifications—and generates a concise, structured summary highlighting key features, benefits, and value propositions that you can use for comparison, sharing, or research. The tool helps you quickly understand and communicate the essence of any product without reading through lengthy descriptions.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool works on any webpage that displays product listings, including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Best Buy, Walmart, and other e-commerce sites, as well as product review pages and company websites. It automatically detects product information from page content or accepts manual input. The script runs on all websites as designated in its match patterns.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension and subscribing, navigate to any product listing page. Click the Product Listing Summarizer icon in your browser toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut (Alt+P). The panel will open. Click "Extract from Page" to automatically capture the product name, description, features, price, and specifications from the current page—or enter the information manually. Choose your preferred summary length (Short, Medium, or Detailed), and toggle whether to include price, pros and cons, specifications, and use cases. Click "Generate Summary" to produce a concise, structured product summary. The summary appears in the panel where you can review and then copy to your clipboard with the "Copy Summary" button.

TECHNICAL SECTION — PRODUCT INFORMATION EXTRACTION AND SUMMARIZATION

Unlike simple text truncation tools, this tool uses a product information extraction and summarization engine. It scans the page to identify product-related content using common patterns and DOM selectors, extracting the product name, description, features, price, and specifications. The AI analyzes this information and generates a structured summary that highlights key features, benefits, and value propositions. The system prompt instructs the AI to create summaries that are concise yet comprehensive, organized in a logical structure that makes it easy to compare products or share information with others. The engine can include pricing, pros and cons, technical specifications, and use cases based on your preferences. This approach produces actionable summaries that save time and improve decision-making.

THE PANEL

The panel is draggable anywhere on the screen and remembers its position per site. It can snap to the left, right, top, or bottom edges, or float freely. Collapse it to a small status indicator when you need more page visibility, and expand it again with a single click. Resize it vertically or horizontally to show more of the product details or summary. Press Escape to close the panel instantly. All settings (length, include price, include pros/cons, include specs, include use cases) are saved globally and persist across sessions.
