WHAT IT DOES

Review Summary Generator reads the current page's customer reviews—including review text, star ratings, dates, and reviewer names—and generates a concise, balanced summary highlighting common themes, overall sentiment, frequently mentioned pros and cons, and an overall recommendation indicator. The tool helps you quickly understand product feedback without reading through dozens of individual reviews.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool works on any webpage that displays customer reviews, including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Best Buy, Walmart, and other e-commerce sites, as well as review platforms like Yelp, TripAdvisor, and product review pages. It automatically detects review content from page elements or accepts manual input. The script runs on all websites as designated in its match patterns.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension and subscribing, navigate to any product or service review page. Click the Review Summary Generator icon in your browser toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut (Alt+R). The panel will open. Click "Extract Reviews" to automatically capture reviews from the current page—or paste review text manually. Choose your preferred summary length (Short, Medium, or Detailed), and toggle whether to include sentiment score, most helpful review excerpt, common complaints, and common praise. Click "Generate Summary" to produce a concise, balanced review summary. The summary appears in the panel where you can review and then copy to your clipboard with the "Copy Summary" button.

TECHNICAL SECTION — REVIEW EXTRACTION AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS

Unlike simple review aggregators, this tool uses a review extraction and sentiment analysis engine. It scans the page to identify review content using common patterns and DOM selectors, extracting review text, star ratings, dates, and reviewer names. The AI analyzes the collected reviews and generates a structured summary that captures the overall sentiment (positive, neutral, or negative), identifies frequently mentioned pros and cons, highlights common themes, and provides an overall recommendation indicator. The system prompt instructs the AI to create balanced summaries that fairly represent both positive and negative feedback, helping you make informed decisions. The engine can include a helpful review excerpt, common complaints, and common praise based on your preferences. This approach produces actionable summaries that save time and improve decision-making.

THE PANEL

The panel is draggable anywhere on the screen and remembers its position per site. It can snap to the left, right, top, or bottom edges, or float freely. Collapse it to a small status indicator when you need more page visibility, and expand it again with a single click. Resize it vertically or horizontally to show more of the reviews or summary. Press Escape to close the panel instantly. All settings (length, include sentiment, include excerpt, include complaints, include praise) are saved globally and persist across sessions.
