Seller Out of Stock Flagger

WHAT IT DOES

Seller Out of Stock Flagger is a floating panel that scans the current page for product listings and identifies items that are out of stock. It searches for indicators like "out of stock", "sold out", "unavailable", "out-of-stock", "soldout", "not available", "sold", and "oos". When an out-of-stock item is found, the tool flags it with a prominent red border and a 🚫 indicator on the page. The panel displays a summary of all out-of-stock items with product names and the keyword that triggered the detection. This helps sellers, inventory managers, and store owners quickly identify which products need restocking.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs on any website you visit — e-commerce platforms, seller dashboards, marketplace listings, or any page with product catalog information. It reads only the page you are looking at, never other tabs, bookmarks, or browser data. All data stays in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

HOW TO USE

Open any page with product listings. Click the Seller Out of Stock Flagger panel button in the BotGentz extension toolbar. The panel appears at the edge of the page. Click "Scan Page" to find out-of-stock items. Out-of-stock items are highlighted directly on the page with a red border and 🚫 icon. The panel shows a list with product names and matching keywords. You can customize the keywords used for detection, toggle highlights on/off, or copy the results to your clipboard.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool scans the page for a configurable list of out-of-stock keywords using case-insensitive matching. It searches the entire page text and also scans product containers, list items, and table rows. When a keyword is found, the tool identifies the containing element and attempts to extract the product name from nearby text. The containing element is highlighted with a CSS class that adds a red border and a 🚫 indicator. The tool deduplicates results to avoid listing the same item multiple times. Keywords are stored locally and can be customized by the user. All operations run client-side in pure JavaScript.

THE PANEL

The panel is a floating overlay that you can drag anywhere on the screen by its header. It remembers its position per site so it reappears where you left it. The panel can be collapsed into a small handle to get it out of the way, and snapped to the edge of the page. It can be resized to fit your workflow. Press Escape to close the panel.

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. All data stays in your browser — nothing is transmitted or shared. The panel works on any website. Keywords are customizable and saved locally. The tool highlights items based on keyword matching — it may not catch all out-of-stock items if the wording is different. Sites change — the script may need updates to match new site structures.
