WHAT IT DOES

Used Item Condition Summarizer reads used item listing descriptions, condition notes, and seller-provided details from marketplace listings—eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and others—and uses AI to produce a concise summary of the item's condition. It extracts key information: overall condition (Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor), specific wear and tear (scratches, dents, stains, scuffs, fading, etc.), functional issues (does it work properly, any missing parts), included accessories, cosmetic defects, and whether the item has been repaired or refurbished. The AI output is a short bulleted summary highlighting the most important condition details a buyer needs to know before making a purchase.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any website. All page content is processed locally before being sent to the AI backend—no data is stored or shared beyond the current analysis request. It works on used item listings, marketplace product pages, classified ads, and second-hand selling platforms.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any used item listing you are considering. Open the panel and click "Summarize Condition." The tool will scan the page for condition details, description text, and seller notes, and send the extracted text to the AI for analysis. Within seconds, you'll receive a clear summary with the overall condition grade, specific cosmetic issues, functional concerns, included accessories, and any repair history. Use the settings to customize the output: include or exclude cosmetic details, functional issues, and accessories, and choose bullet points or plain text format.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses smart content extraction to locate condition data across diverse marketplace platforms. It scans for common used item selectors (used-listing, item-listing, condition, condition-notes, item-details, description, item-condition, product-description, accessories, repairs, refurbished) and falls back to keyword-based detection (condition, used, wear, scratch, dent, stain, functional, accessories, repair, refurbished, grade, excellent, good, fair, poor) when needed. It also captures visible condition indicators. The extracted text is then sent to a dedicated AI backend that identifies condition details and generates a structured summary with an overall grade. The AI is instructed to return a summary under 1,024 tokens—no preamble, just the condition summary. The response is formatted as a clean bulleted list with the grade highlighted.

THE PANEL

The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active AI subscription. The AI replies are generated and should be verified by inspecting the item in person or requesting more photos before purchasing. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular site, it may need updating. All data processing is local except for the AI request itself—no browsing data is collected or stored.
