About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Email Reply Asking for Clarification is a customer support tool that analyzes unclear instructions, ambiguous requests, vague requirements, and confusing messages from any webpage, then drafts a polite, professional reply asking for clarification. It identifies the specific points that are unclear, ambiguous, or missing, then generates a well-structured reply that acknowledges the message, summarizes what has been understood so far, asks for clarification on specific points, and clearly requests the additional information needed to proceed. You can choose between a direct or gentle approach, review the draft in the panel, edit it as needed, and copy it for use in your email client or communication platform.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage displaying unclear instructions, ambiguous requests, vague requirements, or confusing messages that require clarification. Common sources include email clients, project management platforms, support tickets, internal messaging systems, and any communication interface where requests or instructions may be unclear.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any page that contains an unclear instruction, ambiguous request, or confusing message. Open the BotGentz extension and select Email Reply Asking for Clarification from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Enter your full name and email address in the provided fields (these are stored locally for future use). Select your preferred style (direct or gentle) from the dropdown menu. Click the "Draft Clarification" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant text and sends it along with your information to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a polite, professional clarification request in the panel. Review the draft, make any edits directly in the panel, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for use in your email client.
TECHNICAL SECTION — AMBIGUITY PATTERN RECOGNITION
This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on ambiguous and unclear communication patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing uncertainty indicators such as "maybe," "possibly," "not sure," "vague," "unclear," "as needed," "various," and incomplete sentence structures. Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures both the message text and surrounding structural markers (instructions, requests, action items, deadlines). Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being unclear or ambiguous using features like missing subject frequency, vague modifiers ("some," "several," "many"), conditional language ("if possible," "whenever"), and incompleteness markers. Fourth, the system applies semantic clustering to group related content into three core categories: what is understood, what is unclear, and what additional information is needed. Finally, the structured clusters, combined with the user's provided information and selected style, are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to generate a complete clarification request with standardized sections (acknowledgment, summary of understanding, specific clarification questions, request for additional details), reducing hallucination and ensuring a professional, contextually appropriate draft.
THE PANEL
The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active subscription to access the AI drafting feature. AI-generated clarification requests are for assistance only and should be reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness before sending, as interpretations may occasionally miss nuances or misunderstand context. Websites change their content formats frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API; your personal information (name, email) is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the AI as part of the draft generation. No browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
