Promotion Request Drafter is a job search tool that analyzes job descriptions, career progression frameworks, and role requirements from any webpage, then drafts a professional, persuasive email requesting a promotion. It identifies the target role's responsibilities, qualifications, and competencies, then generates a well-structured email that formally requests a promotion, highlights specific achievements and contributions that demonstrate readiness, clearly aligns these with the role requirements, and proposes a specific timeline for a follow-up discussion (such as the next performance review or a specific date). You can choose between a direct or consultative style, review the draft in the panel, edit it as needed, and copy it for use in your email client.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool operates as a panel within the BotGentz browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. It works on any webpage displaying job descriptions, career progression frameworks, role requirement documents, or similar professional content. Common sources include company career pages, internal documentation, job boards, and performance management systems.

HOW TO USE

Navigate to any page that displays a job description, career progression framework, or role requirements. Open the BotGentz extension and select Promotion Request Drafter from the tool menu. The panel will appear on the side of your browser. Enter your full name and email address in the provided fields (these are stored locally for future use). Enter the target role/promotion title, your key achievements (comma separated), and a suggested discussion timeline. Select your preferred style (direct or consultative) from the dropdown menu. Click the "Draft Request" button to analyze the current page content. The tool extracts the relevant role details and sends them along with your information to the AI for processing. Within moments, you will receive a professional, persuasive promotion request email in the panel. Review the draft, make any edits directly in the panel, and click the copy button to save it to your clipboard for use in your email client.

TECHNICAL SECTION — JOB DESCRIPTION AND ROLE REQUIREMENT EXTRACTION

This tool uses a specialized pipeline trained on job description and career progression communication patterns. First, it performs a hierarchical DOM traversal that prioritizes content blocks containing promotion and role indicators such as "promotion," "role," "position," "requirements," "responsibilities," "qualifications," "career," "progression," "level," and "competencies." Second, it extracts candidate passages using a context-aware sliding window that captures both the role data and surrounding structural markers (job titles, responsibility lists, qualification criteria, experience levels). Third, a trained classifier assigns each passage a probability score for being part of a job description or role progression context using features like professional language frequency ("responsibilities," "qualifications," "experience," "skills"), role title markers, competency references, and career level indicators. Fourth, the system applies semantic clustering to group related content into four core categories: the target role title, key responsibilities and expectations, required qualifications and competencies, and career progression criteria. Finally, the structured clusters, combined with the user's provided information (name, email, target role, achievements, timeline, and style preference), are passed to the AI model with a constrained prompt that instructs it to generate a complete promotion request with standardized sections (formal request, achievement highlights with specific examples, alignment with role requirements, proposed discussion timeline, and polite closing), reducing hallucination and ensuring a professional, contextually appropriate draft.

THE PANEL

The side panel is designed for seamless integration into your browsing workflow. You can drag it to either side of the window, and it remembers your preferred position per website. It supports snap-to-edge behavior and can be collapsed to a small tab for minimal distraction. The panel is resizable horizontally and vertically, with a minimum width of 280px and maximum of 600px. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel. All settings are saved locally.

AI-generated promotion requests are for assistance only and should be reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness before sending, as interpretations may occasionally miss role nuances or misread achievement alignment. Websites change their job description formats frequently, and extraction scripts may need periodic updates; we strive to keep the pattern library current. This tool does not store or transmit page content except for the extracted text sent to the AI API; your personal information (name, email) is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the AI as part of the draft generation. No browsing history or personal data is collected or retained. Subscription billing is monthly and can be canceled at any time.
