About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Job Description Keyword Matcher reads the current page's job description content—including title, responsibilities, requirements, and preferred qualifications—then extracts and categorizes all keywords and phrases valuable for resume tailoring. It highlights must-have requirements, nice-to-have preferences, and industry-specific terminology. This helps you optimize your resume to match job descriptions more effectively by identifying the exact terms employers are looking for.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool works on any website that displays job descriptions, including LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, CareerBuilder, company career pages, and other job boards. It automatically detects job description content using common selectors and structure patterns. If a site uses an unusual layout, you can use the manual extraction mode to capture the relevant text.
HOW TO USE
After installing the BotGentz extension and subscribing, navigate to any job description page. Click the Job Description Keyword Matcher icon in your browser toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut (Alt+K). The panel will open and attempt to extract the job description automatically. Review the extracted text in the panel and click "Extract Keywords" to generate the categorized keyword list. The results appear in a structured format showing must-have requirements, nice-to-have preferences, and industry-specific terminology. You can adjust the minimum keyword frequency threshold and toggle inclusion of seniority-level terms in the settings section. Copy the keywords to your clipboard with the "Copy Keywords" button for use in resume tailoring.
TECHNICAL SECTION — FREQUENCY-WEIGHTED TERM CATEGORIZATION
Unlike basic keyword highlighters that simply bold words from a preset list, this tool uses a frequency-weighted term categorization engine. It first extracts the complete job description text and applies a multi-layered parsing approach to identify structural sections (responsibilities, requirements, qualifications, etc.). The engine then performs context-aware term extraction that distinguishes between hard skills (programming languages, tools, certifications), soft skills (leadership, communication, problem-solving), and experience indicators (years, seniority, education). Terms are weighted by frequency of occurrence within each section, with higher weight given to terms appearing in requirements sections versus preferred sections. The AI then categorizes these terms based on semantic clusters and requirement criticality, producing a clean three-tier breakdown. This approach captures not just isolated keywords but meaningful phrases and compound terms that accurately represent what the employer is seeking.
THE PANEL
The panel is draggable anywhere on the screen and remembers its position per site. It can snap to the left, right, top, or bottom edges, or float freely. Collapse it to a small status indicator when you need more page visibility, and expand it again with a single click. Resize it vertically or horizontally to show more of the job description or results. Press Escape to close the panel instantly. All settings (frequency threshold, seniority inclusion) are saved globally and persist across sessions.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active monthly subscription to function. AI-generated keyword extractions are for informational purposes and should be reviewed by you before using them in resumes or applications. Job listing websites change their layouts frequently; scripts may need updates, and we work to keep them current but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Job description text is extracted from the page and sent to the AI service solely for keyword analysis; it is not stored on our servers. You remain fully responsible for the content of your resume and job applications.
