About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Portfolio Description Drafter reads the current page's project details—including project name, technologies used, key features, and user-provided project description—and your professional background, then generates a polished portfolio description draft that you can review, edit, and use on your portfolio website or resume. The tool helps you create compelling project descriptions that showcase your skills and achievements effectively.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool works on any webpage that displays project details, including project pages, GitHub repositories, documentation sites, and personal portfolio pages. It automatically extracts project information from page content or accepts manual input. The script runs on all websites as designated in its match patterns.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension and subscribing, navigate to any page showing project details. Click the Portfolio Description Drafter icon in your browser toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut (Alt+P). The panel will open. Click "Extract from Page" to automatically capture the project name, technologies, key features, and description from the current page—or enter the information manually. Provide your professional background for additional context. Choose your desired tone (Professional, Technical, Storytelling, or Concise), and toggle whether to include technologies, key features, outcomes, and role description. Click "Draft Description" to generate a polished portfolio description. The draft appears in the panel where you can review, edit further, and then copy to your clipboard with the "Copy Draft" button.

TECHNICAL SECTION — PROJECT DESCRIPTION OPTIMIZATION ENGINE

Unlike simple project descriptions that just list features, this tool uses a project description optimization engine. It first extracts or collects key project information including the project name, technologies, features, and description, along with your professional background. The AI analyzes this information and generates a polished description that highlights the most impressive aspects of your project, emphasizes the technologies and skills you used, and frames the project in a way that demonstrates value to potential employers or clients. The system prompt instructs the AI to create descriptions that are engaging, professional, and tailored to the chosen tone, while incorporating specific details that make each project unique. This approach produces descriptions that help your portfolio stand out and effectively communicate your capabilities.

THE PANEL

The panel is draggable anywhere on the screen and remembers its position per site. It can snap to the left, right, top, or bottom edges, or float freely. Collapse it to a small status indicator when you need more page visibility, and expand it again with a single click. Resize it vertically or horizontally to show more of the project details or draft. Press Escape to close the panel instantly. All settings (tone, include technologies, include features, include outcomes, include role) are saved globally and persist across sessions. Your project details are stored locally in your browser.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension and an active monthly subscription to function. AI-generated draft descriptions are for informational purposes and should be reviewed and edited by you before using in your portfolio or resume. You remain fully responsible for the content of your portfolio and professional materials. Project details are extracted from the page or entered manually and sent to the AI service solely for generating your draft; your project details are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. Websites change their layouts frequently; scripts may need updates, and we work to keep them current but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation.
